The Government of Kwara State has collected 1,800 bags of rice and 700 gallons of 25 liter vegetable oil as its share pains reliever from Federal Government .
Rafiu Ajakaye, the spokesman of the governor disclosed this in Ilorin on Sunday uttered that the secretary to the government, Professor Mamman Saba Jibril received the pains reliever on behalf of AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, the Governor of kwara state.
While praising the Federal Government for the action, he recognized that the pains reliever are for the most vulnerable persons in the society as the globe waging war against pandemic and deadly virus .
“We are very grateful to the Federal Government for reaching out to the most vulnerable in our State at this time.
“Specifically, we thank the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development for the gesture.
“We assure Mr President that the palliatives will be delivered to the intended beneficiaries as we have been doing,” Jibril said.
“All of us should use this period of Ramadan to seek God’s mercy. The situation at hand shows just how vulnerable we are and we must pray to God to save us even as we play our individual roles as explained by various health authorities.”
The team leader of the distribution group from Abuja, Dr. Abubakar Suleiman, also disclosed that the pains reliever “were being shared to States on the order of Mr. President for vulnerable groups in the time of the global pandemic.”
Dr. Abubakar said the pains reliever comprised three truckloads of 1,800 bags of rice and a truckload of 700 gallons of vegetable oil.
