Court Jails 29 Year Old For Human Trafficking – NAPTIP

On Thursday, Uselu Mobile Court in Benin has pronounced judgement on 29 people to community service for refusing to complied with the decision of wearing of mask into public places and restriction imposed by Edo State Government to curb the expansion of the pandemic and deadly virus in the state.
Okunbor Orobosa, The State Prosecuting Counsel,  said the 29 culprits who were brought from New Benin, Okhoro and Ugbowo axis, implore liabla to the offences.
Prosecutor said, seven of culprits were seen in public places without using mask, while the other 22 people work against the restriction given by the state Government.
Rusberth Imafidon, the Presiding of the Magistrate, ordered the them to do community services in line with the state government’s non-custodial regulation.
The culprits were asked to clean drainage, shrubs, picking of trash, compulsory community sensitization and fatigue, with others.
22 people that violate restriction directives were sentence to five days community service and the other seven offenders who violated wearing of mask in public places to three days community service.
The offenders would be handled by correctional officers during the punishment period.
