President Muhammadu Buhari has soften the shutdown in Lagos, Ogun as well as Abuja the federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The mitigation will commence on May 4, 2020.

The president explained that he also took into consideration the position of the Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF) on soften of the shutdown.
He said, “In line with the recommendations of the Presidential Task Force on COVID nineteen, the various Federal Government committees that have reviewed socio-economic matters and the Nigeria Governors Forum, I have approved for a phased and gradual easing of lockdown measures in FCT, Lagos and Ogun States effective from May 4, 2020.”
Nigeria current cases of deadly virus has hit 1273 and 40 deaths has recorded.
