COVID-19 lockdown: FG hands over palliatives to FCT – Newsdiaryonline
The Federal Government on Monday assured that all the rice donated to the states, were verified and confirmed fit for human consumption.
Hajiya Sadiya Farouq, the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Social Development and Disaster Management, disclose this while communicating to the newsmen in Abuja today.
Farouq declared that the rice was examined by the National Agency for Food Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), before it was disbursed to the states.
She said, “we all know if we keep rice or grain it is bound to change colour but that does not mean it is unfit for human consumption”.

The Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, had blamed the federal government for disbursing rotten rice to the state.
Makinde had however returned the three trailer loads of rice containing about 1,800 bags
