Today, Lawal Tanko Jimeta, the Commissioner of Police in Bauchi State, read the riot act to the residents on the issues of rape and gender-based attack in the state.

The Commissioner cautioned of the preparedness of the police to purnish the culprit decisively.

state police disclosed that he's team recently arrest a man in Bauchi for raping a 3-year-old child and seven other children.

While discussing with journalists at the state police command headquarters in Bauchi, CP Jimeta regretted that the rises in child molestation, rape and gender-based attack in the society.

CP disclosed that often, parents of raped children mount pressure on the police to stop the investigations in order to avoid going to court.

CP statement read, “Some parents do come back and say that they don’t want any cases.”

Jimeta cautioned those kind of parents to permits police to perform their duties in order to punish the perpetrator and stop such recurrence in the society.

But, Cp advised parents to always keep watching on their children and guarantee that they are barely defended against attack looking on the wings to destroy them.

Jimeta guarantee that the police in Bauchi State will work with human rights activists and organisations to tackle the threat of rape and gender-based attack in the state.

While speaking on the menace, DCP Ali Audu was told that a man was recently apprehended for raping eight children whose ages range from three to five years.

The CP said that the accused is already charged to court and the case is going on.
