His Excellency, David Umahi, Ebonyi State Governor has ordered the re-opening of courts in the state from Monday, June 29.

The governor had directed the lock down of courts sequence to the outburst of pandemic Corona virus.

Remember that the governor directed the lockdown of all courts in the state when he declared the first death cases og the pandemic virus in the state.

The governor had also ordered all judicial officers and their families to quickly go for the COVID-19 test.

He also directed the state COVID-19 committee to get all the courts fumigated, with a repeat of the exercise after 10 days.

But, on Saturday, the Governor in a statement signed by the state Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Mr. Uchenna Orji directed that the courts should be reopened, NAN reports.

Orji counsel that, the public to be informed of the new development.

Orji stated that, the action to re-open the courts was agreed after the governor’s consultation with the state’s Chief Judge.

The statement read: ”The governor, however, emphasised the need for individuals to strictly observe the wearing of face masks and observe social distancing, while conducting their private or public businesses."
