The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), in Niger State, has announced the death of eight people in an auto crash that happened along Mokwa-Bida road on Saturday.

Mr. Joel Dagwa, the state’s Commander of FRSC disclosed this to NAN, in Minna that eight other persons are seriously injured

He said that the auto crash, which happened around 12pm at Labozhip village, between a commercial bus and an articulated vehicle.

His statement read: “Twenty-two people were involved in the mishap; some of the victims were taken to General Hospital, Mokwa, while others were evacuated to Federal Medical Centre, Bida.”

Dagwa disclosed also that the bus moved from Lagos and was going to Kano, while the tanker took off from Kano and was moving to Lagos.

According to him, both drivers survived the auto crash, while the conductor to the bus was dead.

Dagwa counsel motorists to always exercise carefulness and stick seriously to speed limits to avert accident.

The FRSC commander assert the incident on overspeed and loss of control.

He said that the FRSC would continuously watch the road users to guard against pandemic driving.
