The Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria’s Unity FM, Abakiliki in Ebonyi got burnt today

The fire outbreak commences while staff were preparing for their activities. It damage the studio production but no life was lost.

NAN reported that Mr Rex Eze, which is the General Manager of the station, said the fire started at the production studio and burnt it completely.

General Managing Director disclose that the fire was as a result of electrical fault.

He further said that many equipments, including computers, laptops, furniture, and electrical appliances were destroyed by the fire outbreak.

Eze said, "There was a bang shortly after our engineers changed from public power line to the generator.

“I thanked God that the fire did not affect the transmitter, the live studio and my office."

 Mr Raphael Ibiam, who is the Head of the Fire Service in Ebonyi State, who also confirmed the occurrence, explained the fire outbreak as saddened.

However,  He said that fire sevice were able to quenched the fire before it could cause more damage.
