A billboard with the picture of President Muhammadu Buhari and the logo of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been burnt by protesters in Yantumaki town, Danmusa local government area of Katsina state.

Recall Buhari's origin is Katsina.

On Tuesday morning, people of the town make strong objection against the attacks and killings by bandits.

This development occured a week after Aminu Masari, governor of Katsina, declared that his government had backout of the peace agreement with bandits.

The state government had a peace deal with the bandits. But despite the agreement, residents in Katsina are still being attacked and been killed.

On June 1, bandits killed 60-year-old Abu Atiku, district head of Yantumaki with straight bullet.

The gunmen also attacked some area in Batsari LGA of the state, and killed the council’s APC chairman.

The protesters allegedly blocked the Katsina/Kankara federal highway and blocked the road leading to the town.

They were said to have been enraged by the kidnap of one Mansir Yusuf and his daughter by bandits around 1 am on Tuesday.

Isah Gambo, spokesperson of the state police command, refused to say a word to the incident when contacted.
