Another Imminent lockdown may occur in Osun State, as two medical experts at the Ladoke Akintola University Teaching Hospital, LAUTECH, Osogbo, confirmed positive for corona virus also known as COVID-19.

Not less than 60 people including patients in the hospital were announced to have been tested, but over 15 tests came positive for the pandemic virus.

Sequence, there is obvious threat among the people of Osun State, as the state on Thursday, confirmed additional 17 fresh cases, making total active cases of the deadly virus in the state to hit 32.

It was also gathered that the two medical experts infected the virus from a patients that came from Lagos early last week.

The source disclosed that, another announced patient of Corona virus lost its life on Saturday at the same hospital after its arrival from Lagos State.

Meanwhile, Mr. Ayo Adeyemo, the Public Relations Officer of the teaching Hospital confirmed that the hospital had shutdown all its clinics, except Accident and Emergency sections last Friday after receiving an ophthalmology patient with signs of Corona virus that was directed from a Lagos State hospital for surgery.

The patient later confirmed positive of COVID-19.

The patient was said to have settled all the necessary bill and was ready for the surgery.

Many sources revealed that 14 persons, with medical experts and other patients present at the clinic, were quarantined and consequently sent to Osun State General Hospital, Asubiaro, isolation center for testing.

Ngrealnews gathered that Medical experts were noted to have called for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) before they could treat the patients before the hospital was later purified on Friday.

After receiving the ophthalmology patient on Thursday, which led to the action of the management to closed d up all its clinics except the emergency section, a reliable source revealed that the second patient who gave up on Saturday was permitted via Accident and Emergency section without knowing to the doctors in the hospital that the patient was positive to  the COVID-19.

The source told our Correspondent that the patient gave up before his Corona virus result was declared.

Dr. Rafiu Isamotu, the State’s Commissioner for Health confirmed this in an interview that the patient that came from Lagos died before he could be accepted into the state medical facility.

He said, “ Yes, two doctors tested positive for the virus, but one of them has tested negative.

“Of course, the said patient died before he could be admitted into our medical facility."
