Okezie Ikpeazu, the Executive Governor of Abia State has established a seven-man implementation panel for the success of a appropriate housing estate for her workers in the state.

The panel is presided by Hon Theophilus Ugboajah, the State Commissioner for Housing.

Members of the implementation team are Engr. Alozie Nwankwo,(Secretary), while Abia Head of Service, Sir Onyii Wamah, State Commissioner for Lands, Hon. Suleiman Ukandu and Mr. Okezie Ugboaja will serve as members of the committee.

Hon Theophilus Ugboajah, however, explained at the Government house, during the establishment of the Implementation team on Abia Civil Service Housing Scheme, Governor Ikpeazu emphasized that his administration was solicitous of giving Abia civil servants a appropriate housing estate.

The Ude Oko Chukwu, the deputy governor who represented the Governnor instructed the team to find out reasons the earlier attempt by past administrations to give Abia civil appropriate housing scheme not successful and use their findings to come up with meaures to make the housing scheme a success one within a jiffy time.

The Governor further appealed the panel to work out necessary measures to fast-track the ongoing federal government housing scheme and see how it will be of assistant to them and the state in the drive to give Abia civil servants a befitting housing scheme.

In reaction, the chairman of the committee and Commissioner for Housing, Ugboajah guarantee that members of the team will work tirelessly to achieve government plans of giving Abia civil servants a befitting housing scheme and emphasised that the need for communities in the state to contribute their land for meaningful development.
