M Houssam Diab, who is the Ambassador of Lebanese to Nigeria, walked off on members of the Nigerian House of Representatives Committee on Diaspora Affairs on Thursday.

Mr. Diab was invited by the House Committee queried him to explain the accusation of mistreatment of the West African nation in Lebanon.

This sequence to the recent occurrence implicating Temitope Arowolo, who is facing trial for accused him of attempted murder in the country.

Diab shun the lawmaker because he was under pressure with the presence of the media at the venue when the meeting began.

Chairman of the House Committee, Tolulope Akande-Sadipe, explained to newsmen that she was surprised that the “Ambassador will just get up and walk out on us.”

She stated that Diab respected the call as a mark of honour for the nation, however “was not expecting the media because he was unaware the House records all its meetings.”

Meanwhile, the Committee had previously note that the Lebanese Government should be held accountable for the desecration of Mrs. Ariwolo’s human rights.

Sadipe said the Lebanese Government must be held answerable for the desecration of Temitope’s rights which was in violation of the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights, UDHR.
