Barrister Perfect Okorie, who is the Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Abia State, has shows worried over the suspended of federal roads project carried out by the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, in the state.

The APC write also alert the federal government, to the incapability of the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs, not to stop Obehie-Obohia-Azumini-Ukanafun road project, which has become extremely dangerous to travellers and residents playing the major road according to him.

Barrister Perfect, revealed this via a press statement made lay more emphasis to newsmen, in Umuahia, Monday, emphasized that the deserted road link Abia oil-producing and agrarian town with their equivalent in Akwa-Ibom and Rivers State.

The Secretary further appreciate the actions of the Federal Ministry of Niger Delta and the Niger Delta Development Commission, (NDDC) and urge them to start Aba-Opobo-Azumini highway project.

He also saddened at the removal of the South East in the first and second (incumbent) NDDC Interim Management Committee, which has given APC serious challenge.

The Barrister, however pleaded the Federal government to quickly access this, as it noted that two Oil producing States in the southeast zone (Imo and Abia) did not have representatives in the team.

The Barrister's words, “These are roads that their current situation if improved can automatically change the economic fortunes of our businessmen and women and make interstate commercial activities between Abia and her neighbouring states much easier.

We all know about the Onitsha-Enugu highway. The Second Niger Bridge is no longer news because that bridge is seriously under construction."
