Oyo State Governor, Eng Seyi Makinde established additional COVID-19 Isolation Center in Awe in AFIJIO Local Government Area of the State on Friday.

Makinde said while commissioning that his government goal of reforming the Health sector remains intact.

Seyi Makinde disclosed this via his Deputy, Rauf Olaniyan, stated that the present government in Oyo was prepared to revamps health sector in every angle of the state.

The governor said further that the new Isolation Center was a prove to the government’s commitment to eradicate the impact of COVID-19.

He added that, the center would provide health professionals for the well-being of the citizens and the people of the community including all the four local government areas in Oyo town.

Governor asked all medical experts to work together with the government to guarantee a world-class service in healthcare delivery.

In addition, he said that, the center is part of measures to improve the deteriorated healthcare instruments in the state, saying it is essential to curtail the spread of the pandemic virus among the people in the state.

Makinde said contact tracing and active case searching have been set in motion.

However, he foaster residents of the state to take responsibility and essential procedures while following the COVID 19 quidlines.

The Commissioner for Health, Dr. Bashir Bello, revealed that measures are ongoing to site isolation centers in all parts of the state, especially in Ogbomoso, Oke-Ogun and Ibarapa.

Bello maintained that after the first confirmed case of the virus in the state, the Olodo Infectious Disease Center and the Agbami Isolation Center have both been established to aid the state’s COVID-19 containment measures.
