Mr Kayode Alabi, Kwara State Deputy Governor, tested negative for pandemic Corona virus on Friday.

The chairman of the state COVID-19 technical committee took the test with his staff on Friday, as part of measures to curb the extension of the deadly virus.

Modupe Joel, who is chief press secretary to the Deputy Governor revealed this in Ilorin.

The statement said results of the test taken by staff at the Deputy Governor’s office were being awaited.

Deputy Governor appealed to the public to take responsibility and comply with all the safety measures to curtail the pandemic corona virus.

Ngrealnews gathered that the Chief of Staff to the state governor, Aminu Adisa Logun, passed away on Tuesday due to the complications from corona virus and his remain was laid to rest on Wednesday in Ilorin.

Sequence to the development, the state government ordered all cabinet members, government officials and medical personnel who had get in touch with the late Chief of Staff to test for the virus and proceed on self-isolation for 14 days.

The government house clinic where the late Chief of Staff was first attended to, was also lockdown, while official physical meetings by government officials have been suspended indefinitely as part of measures to combat the spread of the deadly virus.
