Former President of Nigeria, Olusegun Obasanjo, personally oversee the measures of COVID-19 guidelines at the burial service of his mother-in-law, Florence Mopelola Adenekan.

Her remain was buried at Isara, in Remo North local government area of Ogun State, on Friday.

Mrs Adenekan, who passed away just days to her 90th birthday, was the mother of Mrs Bola Obasanjo.

But, Bola was not present at the burial ceremony. She has been in the United Kingdom for a while.

At the St. Peter’s Anglican Church, Diocese of Remo, venue of the Order of Service, Obasanjo make sure that the limit number of those to be accepted was strictly followed.

He personally locked the church doors as the Archibishop of Lagos Ecclesiastical Province of Lagos/Bishop of Remo Diocese, Most Rev Dr M.O Fape, presided.

Some of his allied, aides and associates were locked out with their face masks.

Immediately after the church service, the burial took place at the Church cemetery located behind the church, with Obasanjo leading family members to pay the last respect to the demised.

After the burial chief Obasanjo later pay a short visit to the four traditional rulers at Ode and Isara areas of the local government.

Oba Osho disclosed that Obasanjo’s visit, despite being on personal visitation, shows that he is a authentic Yoruba son.

The traditional leader said, “We shall continue to learn from your wisdom. The entire people of Ode is proud and appreciate these visits."
