Ondo State Medical experts at the Infectious Disease Hospital, IDH, Akure, have ceased in responding to coronal virus patients admitted at the hospital.

The development happened due to the high figures of announced pandemic virus cases in the State.

The medical experts under the aegis of the National Association of Government General Medical and Dental Practitioners, NAGGMDP, castigates the state government led by Dr Rotimi Akeredolu, on the issue at which the COVID-19 pandemic was being tackled in the state.

Ngrealnews gathered that IDH is a center where patients with infectious diseases such as LASSA fever and COVID-19 are handled.

Dr. Olasakinju Tunde, who happens to be the  State Secretary of NAGGMDP, confirmed the doctors’ stoppage service on Monday, stated it was due to lack of government to agreed on their needs.

The association expressed their reason on government’s failure to conclude negotiations on the interrupted of Minimum Wage and considerable Adjustments already benefiting by the Non-Medical Staff Since January 2020, lack of proper supply of personal protective equipments (PPE) and the general welfare of our members which include Life Insurance for frontline doctors.

Meanwhile, the medical experts had during a congress asked that members who are the COVID19 specialists at the IDH to continue to work till Thursday morning, 2nd July 2020 in the interest of the general public and particularly confirmation of the COVID19 Status of Mr. Governor.

Sequence to the non-compliance with the previous order, the association ordered that “it is imperative that our members be withdrawn immediately (from midnight today 6th July 2020) due to lack of the human face expected from the government.”
