The Osun State Government has sympathized with Mr. Rotimi Akeredolu, the executive Governor of Ondo State and the citizens of Ondo State, over the demised of the State’s Commissioner for Health, Dr. Wahab Adegbenro.

Adegbenro was disclosed to have pass away on the complication of COVID-19 at the state Infectious Disease Hospital, IDH in Akure, Ondo State capital on Thursday.

The State Government, in a statement signed by Mrs. Funke Egbemode, the Honorable Commissioner for Information and Civic Orientation, explained the demised of Dr. Adegbenro as unlucky, releasing the conditions that necessitated it and it is pathetic.

Mrs. Funke added that: “the Health Commissioner who doubled as Chairman of the Inter-ministerial Committee on COVID-19 in the State, was undoubtedly a critical front liner in the fight against COVID-19. His demise is, therefore, a great loss to Ondo State.

“It is on record that until his demise, Dr. Adegbenro pulled his weight as a distinguished medical professional to dutifully serve Ondo State”.

Egbemode also sympathized with Governor Akeredolu for losing one of his aides, whose role in the government is very essential to the health emergency that the State and the nation at large were battling with together.

She, therefore, commiserate with the families and friends of deceased and the entire citizens of State, praying that God grants them the fortitude to bear the loss.

Meanwhile Ngrealnews reported that, The Commissioner for Health in Ondo state, Dr Wahab Adegbenro, has died.
