The Prime Minister of Cote d’Ivoire, Amadou Gon Coulibaly gave up the ghost at 61 years.

The Cote d’Ivoire president, Alassane Ouattara who confirmed his demise through his veeified official Twitter page stated that he passed away briefly after cabinet conference at the presidential palace in Abidjan on Wednesday afternoon.

He said, “Fellow compatriots, Ivory Coast is mourning.

“ It is with deep pain that I announce to you that Prime Minister Amadou Gon Coulibaly has left us.

“I salute the memory of a statesman, a man of great loyalty, dedication, and love for his homeland.”

Ngrealnews gathered from local media, the Prime Minister had been moved to France in May, however, passed away after attending his first cabinet meeting since he came back from the journey, where he was treated for months.

Coulibaly was anticipated to take move as the ruling party’s presidential contestant in the October poll after president Ouattara confirmed that he would not run for the third term.

He served as the Prime Minister since January 2017 after serving as Secretary-General of the presidency for six years until his death.
