The former Senate President and former Governor of Kwara State, Abubakar Bukola Saraki, has explained as lacking of responsible and cheap politics on the calls for his investigation, over reported link with alleged fraudster, Hushpuppi who was recently apprehended in the United Arab Emirates and extradited to the United States.

Ngrealnews gathered that the All Progressives Congress, APC, on Saturday, called for the investigation of some prominent leader of the Peoples Democratic Party’s on their connection to the apprehended Ramon Abbas popularly known as Hushpuppi.

Yekini Nabena, who is the APC’s Deputy National Publicity Secretary, disclose that Atiku Abubakar, former PDP’s Presidential candidate, Bukola Saraki; ex-Senate President and PDP National Leader, former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara; and ex-Kogi West Senator, Dino Melaye should be query over their links with Hushpuppi.

While responding, Saraki in a statement signed by his media office on Saturday, declined the accusation of his links with the cyber- fraud suspect, Abbas.

He said Dr Bukola Saraki has no links with the said culprit and neither does he know him in any way.

“The statement credited to the APC, the ruling party in our country, is one of the ways by which our anti-graft agencies are weakened and why the fight against corruption in the country is often viewed with suspicion by the international community.

“This is because when these cyber-crime suspects were operating freely and openly displaying wealth, the APC saw nothing bad in their activities. Also, the party at that time did not deem it necessary to call on the anti-graft agencies to investigate their activities.

“Also, since the arrest of those cybercrime suspects and the subsequent damage to the image and the economy of Nigeria as well as the crisis it created for Nigerians engaged in lawful businesses across the world, the ruling party had been muted.

“The only time the APC deemed it necessary to make a statement was when it thought it should play dirty, cheap and irresponsible politics.

Saraki, therefore, appealed the APC heads to warn Yekini Nabena to stop making and extending such malicious, odious and offensive allegations.
