The Nigeria Military at 32 Artillery Brigade, Owena Cantonment, Akure Ondo state Capital, disclosed that they have delivered two abducted victims at the Iboropa forest in Akoko North-East Local Government Area of Ondo State.

Acting Assistance Director, Army Public Relations, Captain Ayorinde Omojokun, revealed this in a statement on Friday in Akure.

Capt. Ayorinde noted that the soldiers together with other security experts delivered the unfortunate people at about 1p.m on Thursday.

Omojokun said the unlucky include: Mr. Aremo Abiodun, a 50-year-old driver, and a trader, Mrs. Agnes Afogun (50), all of them came from Ugbe Akoko in Akoko North-East Local Government Area of the state.

He explained further that the unlucky people were abduct about 7p.m on Tuesday while sojourns to Simerin from Ugbe by unidentified criminals who carried away to one of their hiding place in the desert.

“The kidnappers contacted Akoko branch of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) and Mrs. Agnes’ husband, demanding ₦30 million ransom.

He said, “With the support of the IGP-IRT team, troops were able to track the location of the kidnappers to the Iboropa forest.

“The security agencies swung into action and went in pursuit of the kidnappers. On sighting the troops, the kidnappers took to their heels and abandoned the victims."

He also disclosed that the kidnapped victims had been handed over to their families members via Oba Yusuf Adebori Adeleye, Olubaka of Oakland in Akoko South East Local Government Area of the state, NAN reports.
