The Defence Headquarters has disclosed that soldiers on Operation at Lafiya Dole have killed top commanders and members of Boko Haram insurgents in recent battle in the northeast.

Maj.-Gen. John Enenche, the Coordinator, Defence Media Operations, revealed this on Sunday in a statement in Abuja.

Maj. Gen. John stated that the soldiers had on July 17, eliminate six Bokoharam at Kolofata, a community on the Republic of Cameroon boundary, in an attempt to escape Sambisa Forest.

Top Military officer said that equipment and weapons regain from the them are: a Magazine with 48 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, eight bicycles, one Honda car, three AK47 rifles and one motorcycle.

The statement read: “Shortly after the successful operation, the enemy communication intercept confirmed the killing of a top Boko Haram Commander named Sayinna and other fighters during the encounter.

“The other slain terrorists were suspected to be Imam and Mansur to Abu Fatima who hibernates in Sambisa Forest.”

Enenche added that, the soldiers relent not on their attack on the Boko Haram in the northeast, eliminate eight eminent leaders of Boko Haram on their attempt to attack Army Super Camp, Damasak.

Enenche stated that with the soldiers tenacity, superior firepower and manoeuvring skills, the terrorists were killed and the rest escaped with serious injuries.

He said further: “This is evident by the frequent changes in ISWAP leadership within a short period of time, and this is largely due to the several losses inflicted on their men, weapons and equipment.”

Meanwhile, The soldiers were attacked while on advance to notorious bandit leader’s camp known as Dangote at Shimfida.
