Since the WAEC began on August 17th, 2020, eleven pupils sitting for the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) has been positive to the COVID-19 in Gombe State.
As cases keep on increasing, all pupils who infected to the virus are under serious supervision and are also isolated in the state specialist hospital in the said state.

The virus won't keep them from sitting for their WAEC exams, as they proceeds their examination from the isolation center.

Idris Mohammed, the chairman of COVID-19 task force in Gombe state has stated that one pupil out of the 11 who tested positive has tested negative and has been released after the news was announced yesterday.

Idris Mohammed added that nine pupil schooling at Government Girls Secondary School, Doma, tested positive to COVID-19.

With all the measures put in place, some pupils still infected with the virus. "There must be more vigilance in the education and other sectors". Idris Mohammed said.

With all hope pupils who infected to COVID-19 to regain their health very soon and live their vibrant lives, but as for now all pupils should be locked except those writing examination, all other class room should remain locked before our children will become the next positive covid-19 patient.
