The Monarch Adeyemo Adejugbe, who is the Ewi of Ado Ekiti, has disclosed this year’s Udiroko anniversary in Ado Ekiti will be celebrated with low key not as usual way due to the deadly corona virus.

Udiroko is the yearly festival in Ado Ekiti to end the year and the beginning of the new year in the Ado Ekiti almanac.

Oba Adeyemo Adejugbe while speaking with DAILY POST in Ado, disclosed that, the feast would be celebrated this year not as usual way on the 30th of this month as prayers would be held for Ado, Ekiti State and Nigeria.

Monarch stated that the agreement to celebrate in low key was to curb the spread of corona virus in the community and the state and to follow the COVID-19 protocol ordered by the state government.

Oba Adeyemo appealed the citizen of Ado Ekiti to celebrate this year’s Udiroko in their respective houses.

Monarch urged the sons and daughter of Ekiti State to uphold a wealthy environment, guarantee regular handwashing, use face masks and nose cover, follow physical distancing with other precautionary measures to cur the spread of pandemic corona virus
