Ogun State Government has finally lift ban on schools, after five months lockdown to curb community spread of pandemic coronavirus in the state.

The state government announced schools to resume on 21st September, 2020 for the first term of 2020/2021 academic session.

Thus was announced by Kunle Somorin, the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Dapo Abiodun, on Monday, that the resumption of schools is extended to all classes in primary and secondary schools, technical and vocational colleges, and all the Institutions in the state.

Mr Kunle Somorin said, universities, polytechnics and colleges of education are to reopen on the same day.

But, due to the COVID-19 protocol, schools hours are arranged for public schools.

Ngrealnews gathered that students in Primary one to three will resume in the morning between the hour 8am to 11am; while Primary 4 to 6 will be in their classes between 12pm to 3pm.

The same is applicable for secondary schools, the hours are arranged in the same way among those in junior and senior classes.

Mr Kunle Somorin said further that, technical and Vocational will resume normal school hours between 8am to 2pm.

Mr Kunle uphold that, children Care Development and Education classes for infants from 3 to 5 years of age will not be resuming in public schools until the next phase of schools reopening.

He added, “Tertiary institutions are allowed to commence reopening from 21 September, 2020 as may be determined by their respective Management".
