Senator Opeyemi Michael, the Chairman Senate Committee on Judiciary, Human Rights and Legal Matters, has disclosed the only solution to win its incessant killings and increase in insecurity challenges in the country is to have a well-packaged training and empowerment policy for jobless Nigerians youths.

According to Honourable Bamidele, Ekiti Central Senatorial District at the senate noted that, the incessant issues of banditry, robbery, kidnapping and killings being carried out by the youth would be discontinue if leaders could place a priority on the empowerment of youths via vocational and entrepreneurial training.

The APC chieftain disclosed this in Ado Ekiti on Wednesday, at the end of three-day vocational and entrepreneurial training for 1,000 unemployed youths in his senatorial district.

Senator Opeyemi described that the activities done in partnership with Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria(SMEDAN), would open the avenue of chances for his constituents in the entrepreneurial globe to fight crime and demote poverty.

The senator said the training, which centers around business, tailoring and baking, would wet those who partakes with the ditect skills, business intelligence and ability to grow in the management of small scale businesses.

While addressing the partakers, Mr. Bunmi Oguntuase, Senior Legislative Aide to Honourable Bamidele's said “80 percent of the crimes occurrences in Nigeria was as a result of idleness among Nigeria youths, adding that the government must place superiority in finding solution to this.

He said, “The federal government is grappling with the issues of banditry in the Northwest, Boko Haram insurgency in the North East and kidnapping in the southwest. All these are creating restiveness and destabilising the economy because no investor will come to any environment that looks insecure.

“But with massive youth training and empowerment, some of these crises will automatically be resolved without resorting to spending billions on amnesty programmes and other resolution mechanisms”.

While worried about high level of unemployment in the state, Hon. Bamidele said: “I have designed five empowerment programmes for my constituents because it is one of the key projects I have for them. In Ekiti, there are no viable factories and companies, what we are known for is Okada riding and we have to change the narratives.

“This capacity building will take about 70 percent off the streets of Ekiti because the APC led government of Ekiti is not also toying with its youth policy”.

Hon Kareem Agunbiade, the Chairman of Ekiti West Local council, instructed the participants to be prudent in the evidence-based fact that white-collar jobs are no longer fashionable and easy to find in Nigeria.

The chairman also said with the terrible and worried level of joblessness in the country, the essence of revealing people to business idea has become important and stands out as the better way to move them out of the present vice of poverty level.

The Chairman said this in his lecture titled:"Be Your Own Boss".

Mr. Julius Akaigbe, who is one of the speaker said business remains the best way for people to rule the globe, not only by gathering wealth or attain financial self-sustainability but to gain fame and global reckoning.
