Ben Ayade, the executive Governor of Cross River state has ban the movement of scrap trucks from his State to other states.

According to the statement released on Wednesday by Christian Ita, his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, said the governor attention has been drawn to information that gangsters are preparing to cart away stolen goods out of the state as scrap.

He said, “it has come to the attention of the governor that in a desperate bid to escape arrest, criminals and their masterminds who callously looted government and private properties have now resorted to moving such items out of the state disguised as scraps.

”Consequently, the government hereby places an immediate ban on the transportation of scraps of all categories out of the state”.

Governor Ayade ordered all transporters and motorists in the state to inform the state government on anyone who approaches them to move scraps out of the state to security personnel, warning that anyone caught moving looted properties will be termed as participator and treated as a looter.

Ben Ayade remembered that sequence the heavy looting and damaging of public and private properties and businesses in Calabar by gangsters the looters may ran away from the state.
