First Lady of Kwara state and Founder, Ajike people support center, Dr Mrs Olufolake Abdulrazaq has affirmed the need for a safe, educated and healthy life of a girl child as it promotes equal future for all

Dr Mrs Abdulrazaq stated this  at an event organized by her office and the Ajike people support center to commemorate the international day of the girl child where she joined via zoom conferencing to address attendees. 
The International Day of the Girl Child is celebrated globally every 11th of October.

The event which was held today Sunday 10th October, 2020 in ilorin had in attendance students selected from across 48 Secondary schools and Tertiary institutions in the state.   
        
The students were Presented with portable solar lamps to aide their studies in the event of power seizures. The solar powered lamps were Presented to the first lady by the Indian High Commission in Nigeria.

While thanking Ambassador Abhay Thakur (High Commissioner of India to Nigeria) for the support , Dr Mrs Olufolake commended the present administration in the state for the inclusion of girls and women in the workings of the state.

 The first lady further shared her resolve to intensify advocacies to protect women and girls more effectively from all forms of violence through Her office and the Ajike people support center

In her remarks, the Commissioner for Tertiary education, Hajia Saadatu Modibbo Kawu commended the First Lady for her consistent support to the people of the state through her various empowerment programmes and stated that the solar lamps presented will assist the student improve their reading culture.

Miss Zubair Sofiat on behalf of the secondary school students beneficiaries thanked Dr Abdulrazaq for her motherly love and support towards the people of the state, especially women and children and prayed for God's blessing on her

In the same vein, Miss Yunus Abidemi, appreciated the First Lady on behalf of the Tertiary students beneficiaries for sharing the concerns of not only the girl but the youths of the state in general. She prayed for God's guidance on her.

Dignitaries present at the event include; Commissioner for Tertiary education, Hajia Saadatu Modibbo Kawu, Senior special Adviser  on SDG to the Governor, Dr Mrs Jamilat Bio, Director school services, Kwara state ministry of education, Alhaji Abubakar Babatunde Ahmed, amongst others
