The Police Command in Cross River State has delivered three pregnant women and two babies from reported baby factory in the state.

Abdulkadir Jimoh, the Commissioner of Police in the state revealed this to newsmen in Calabar the state capital on Wednesday.

CP said a group of police personnel in the state led by him (CP) delivered the unlucky people when the group take over the home of one Madam Ima-Obong Asuquo in Obot Udonna village in Akamkpa LGA early hour on Wednesday.

CP Abdulkadir said the rescue operation got to the place around 3.40hrs of Wednesday sequence the information received.

The commissioner of Police said three pregnant teenagers, Blessing Francis, 19, Blessing Okon, 19, and Blessing Solomon, 21, were delivered during the rescue operation team by his men.

CP Abdulkadir noted that two children, Bright Solomon, two years old and Michael Etim, 7 years old were set free.

He added that the prime culprit has admits the crime, and said she had previously sold three new babies for N1, 500,000 in conspiring with one other woman called Iquo of Technical junction Calabar.

CP said, “Both are in our custody, while investigations are in progress. One Mr Solomon Christopher, a witness, has also made a recorded statement”.
