Sen. Chris Ngige was interviewed earlier this evening by Seun of Channels TV.

The Minister explained how the whole story started and was able to tell us what their series of meetings were like, the bone of contention in those meetings and how they (FG team) were trying to reach common ground with ASUU on their demands. He explained their readiness to release the funds promised immediately ASUU is also ready to go back to their classrooms.

On the issue of the IPPIS controversial payment platform, He said they have promised to integrate the proposed lecturers' platform --UTAS once it passes the integrity test. Meanwhile, the payment platform has been subjected to the test and it doesn't seems to be ready for adminstration anytime soon. He said it would take more time.

When he was asked about 7 days ultimatum given by Students Union leader, He advised the leaders against the action and promised that in the coming week, they will reach an agreement as there are so many options to tread.
