The Upper chamber, on Thursday, give a strick warning to State House officials that, from now on, President Muhammadu Buhari should stop traveling for medical attention and treatment.

Red chamber said instead of permitting President Buhari to zoom out of the country for medical attention and treatment, the government and state house officials should this year, put in order the State House Clinic for such purposes.

Senator Danjuma La’ah, under the umbrella of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Kaduna South-led Senate Committee on Federal Character and Intergovernmental Affairs, issue this warning when the State House Permanent Secretary, Tijani Umar, appeared before the committee to defend his 2021 budget estimates.

According to his presentation, the State House official gave a budget of N19.7bn for 2021, out of which N1.3bn was budgeted for the hospital in State House.

The Chairman of the Senate panel, Senator Danjuma La’ah said in his reaction to the budget estimates, that though the committee would be signed for the State House Clinic, the President and other prominent officials of his government should no longer be traveled abroad for medical treatment.

While Speaking with journalists after defending his budget, the Permanent Secretary promised to put necessary measures in place to meet to medical standard of the President and other prominent officials once the budget was approved.
