On 5th November, 2020, the Kwara State Government ably led by His Excellency, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq invited Women Stakeholders to seek for their inputs in how best he can run the state.

It was a well attended event that had in attendance women from all walks of life from across all the local governments in the state.

The meeting gave all the attendees the opportunity to advice the governor and also offer useful suggestions on how to move the state forward.

In her contribution, the Coordinator of the Women Wing, Kwara Must Change, Mopelola AbdulMaliq eulogized the governor for finding  women worthy to be part of his government, a development that is different from what was obtainable in the past. She also advised the governor on areas of improvement, especially on women and youth empowerment.

The women leader also harped on the need to reposition the ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development to make it more functional and responsive to the yearnings of women in the state, in line with the change agenda of the current administration in the state.

Responding, the governor in his element thanked the women for their unflinching support and loyalty. He also promised to look into all the suggestions by setting up a Committee that will ensure the harmonization of all the observations and suggestions, and also work out the necessary modalities that will assist the government in the implementation of their suggestions.
