The main opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Lagos State asked on Sunday, for the resignation of Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the incumbent Governor of Lagos state.

The Peoples Democratic party stated that, Sanwo-Olu, has ruined the confidence of the residents of the state, hence should move out of the office.

The Publicity Secretary of the party in the state, Taofik Gani, added that the residents of the state no longer have trust in Sanwo-Olu leadership any longer sequence the use of Nigeria soldiers against peaceful EndSARS protesters at Lekki toll gate in the state.

His statement read: “The PDP is of the view that it is more expedient for Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to step aside now that the Nigerian Army has revealed him as the person who invited the soldiers to go quell the Lekki protests which have led to unfortunate fatalities and grievous injuries.

“Obviously, Lagosians can no longer trust a governor who denies his conspiracy actions in government. Sanwoolu has no moral standing worth being proud of and he should admit this and honourably leave the stage as governor of the state.”

Remember that soldiers were criticized of extinguished peaceful protesters at the Lekki toll gate on 20th October, 2020.

But, the 81 Division of the Nigerian Army had rejected the new fact that soldiers extinguished protesters at the Lekki toll gate on the said date.
