Five Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists were killed by Military personnel of Operation Fireball in Borno State.

Brigadier Benard Onyeuko, the Acting Director, Defence Media Operations, revealed this in a statement released to journalist on Monday.

According to the statement said that, the military personnel of 222 Battalion in collaboration with some parts of Borno State Civilian JTF yesterday sequence a legal intelligence on Boko Haram insurgents, skillfully taken an hostile fighting patrol to the general community of Margumari village.

However, the military personnel established and quickly aggressively moving around terrorists swindle in the region.

The statement said, “During the brief but decisive encounter, 4 Boko Haram criminals were neutralized, while one FN Rifle, one AK 47 Rifle, 2 FN Rifle magazines and 4 AK 47 Rifle magazines were captured from the fleeing criminals.

“Additionally, 29 Rounds of 7.62mm NATO ammunition, 39 Rounds of 7.62mm Special ammunition, 2 Motorcycles, Motorcycle repair tools and one Tecno phone were also captured”.

Brigadier Benard Onyeuko, also disclosed that, military personnel of 144 Battalion on last Saturday belead a serious clearance patrol to Yafa, Kirchinga and Shuwarin general areas.

The statement read, “Troops made contact and engaged the criminals at Yafa. In the ensuing gun battle, one Boko Haram criminal was neutralized while several others were believed to have escaped with gunshot wounds”.

However, The Acting Director, Brigadier Benard Onyeuko, appreciate the military personnel Operation Fireball under Operation Lafiya Dole for their resilience and dedication in eradicating the cramps of Bokoharam in their hiding places.

Hr appealed “The entire populace of the North East region are hereby assured of the Nigerian military high command determination to finally rout the remnants of Boko Haram/Islamic State’s West Africa Province criminals from their enclaves in this zone.

“They are also encouraged to avail the troops with credible information that will help in the execution of the operation”.
