The Chairman Senate Committee on Health, Dr. Ibrahim Yahaya Oloriegbe has expressed grief over the death of the Cross River State Police Commissioner, Alh. Abdulkadir Lanre Jimoh who bade world bye yesterday after a brief illness.

Oloriegbe in his reaction to the sad news described the death of 'Lanre Olopaa' as a monumental tragedy to the people of Ilorin and the Nation at large.

"I found it unbelievable to read yesterday about the demise of my dear brother, CP Lanre Jimoh. This is indeed a monumental tragedy to us in Ilorin and Nigeria at large.

"The late CP until his death in service was a dutiful cop highly committed to his duties to his fatherland. A respected crime buster whose contributions to the safety and peace of our dear nation cannot be undervalued. He was indeed a patriotic contemporary very passionate about the developments of our town.

"It is so unfortunate that we lost such a gem at this critical period when the country is still battling with security challenges that will need the expertise of people like him to conquer. However, we cannot question Allah but to take solace in the exemplary life he lived.

"I commiserate with the immediate and extended family of the deceased, the Nigerian Police Force, and our father, His Royal Highness, Emir of Ilorin. May almighty Allah expiate all his transgressions and repose his soul in Janah. May we never experience such a misfortune again in our community and may we be gifted with the fortitude to bear this loss."
