Here’s a very simple question that you should consider as you prepare for Christmas: Before the first Christmas, was Jesus known and seen in Heaven?

Most people believe (wrongly) that Jesus was known and visible in heaven long before he came to earth as a little baby. This believe is based on assumptions that since he is God, and is one with the Father, it means He has always existed and therefore always visible in Heaven.

The Bible’s teaching on this is very detailed and leads to a completely surprising conclusion. Jesus had always existed but was never visible in heaven before the very first Christmas.

John 1:1-2
"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God."

Jesus existed as WORD. He is the Word of God. “Word” is invisible. But he is not only "the Word" of God the Father, he is also "the WISDOM" of the Father! Wisdom also is an invisible concept. It cannot be seen, it cannot be touched even though it exists.

Pro 8:22-23
"The LORD possessed me (Wisdom) in the beginning of his way, before his works of old. 23 I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, or ever the earth was."

When you combine these two passages, you will agree that it is possible to hear the Word but not see it. It is possible to see the effect of Wisdom, but not see Wisdom itself. This is why the first Christmas was an awe-inspiring and unforgettable moment in heaven.

No angel has ever looked into the face of God the Father.  Isaiah 6 describes the angelic beings that stand before the Almighty Adonai, they have to cover their faces with their wings! That’s how overwhelming the light of His presence is.

So what the angels had ever seen of the Word of God (Jesus Christ) were the created manifestations as described in Genesis chapter 1. They knew Jesus as Light. They knew Jesus as night. They knew Jesus as stars, mountains, the waters in the firmaments, the birds of the air, oceans and rivers, the fishes, the green herbs, the animals for
"All things were made through him; and without him was not anything made that hath been made.  John 1:3"

God spoke the Word (Jesus) and it became whatever God said. The Word had to manifest for the angels to see.
