General Ibrahim Babangida (rtrd) the former military Head of State, has called the citizen of Nigeria to remain calm, resolute and patient in the present of many challenges confronting the country.

Babangida gave the counsel during Channels Television interview on the night preceding the new year, noting that whatever has a beginning must certainly have an end.

The former military Head of State stated that the pandemic virus placed a deadly challenge to the entire globe, which Nigeria is not excluded, and has affected all other aspects of governance.

IBB also urged all Nigerians to obey COVID-19 protocols as provided by health agency of Nigeria.

His statement read: “I wish all of us well and want us to remain steady, to remain resolute and have patience because everything that has a beginning [will surely] have an end,” the former Head of State said.

“I think once we work hard towards getting the objectives right, we’ll have a pleasant and good 2021.

“So I take this opportunity to wish all of us Nigerians the best of 2021 and to encourage Nigerians to continue to assist government in solving all the perennial problems associated with governance

“2020 has been a very challenging period not to this country alone but through out the world. There is Covid-19, economic situations and also insecurity.

“2020 has been a challenging year in terms of health, security and economy. We remain grateful to God and we’ll get through these problems…. Coronavirus is real. So I appeal to people to go along with what the health providers are advising us."
