The Kwara State Deputy Governor, H/E Kayode Alabi has declared that Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq's blueprint for a boisterous and prosperous Kwara; that offers all citizens equitable opportunities for holistic emancipation is on course.

Mr Kayode Alabi made this declaration on Saturday,  March 20, 2021 while declaring open the second session of the 15th round of Irepodun Free Medical Programme being facilitated by Dr Seyi Adigun.

"Kwara State is poised to emerge as a citizens choice destination for living in Nigeria. The administration of Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq is undaunted in the determination to pursue its people-first blueprint. We inherited a State with ramshackle developmental indices and a terrible wealth distribution scheme skewed in favour of a perverted few in public office but now our overarching goal is to bequeath to the next generation a boisterous and prosperous Kwara which everyone will be proud to call home" The Deputy Governor, who was represented by Hon. Olabode Towoju remarked at the event.

Chairman of the occasion, Prince Lanre Shuaib in his opening remarks spoke eloquently about selfless service and the need for Nigerian citizens at all strata of government and leadership to embrace a culture of service for community. He said the ensample of Dr Seyi Adigun is one that Irepodun Local Government is proud of and his modest efforts are deserving of recommendation.

Earlier,  Alhaji Sikiru Afolabi, a community leader in Sanmora and representative of HRH The Eleju of Eju Land Oba Mathew Ajiboye, expressed the happiness of Sanmora people at the proactiveness of the Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq's administration in attending to needs of hundreds of communities across Kwara since its inception. He however noted that Sanmora community is still awaiting government interventions in many areas. He cited one of the urgent needs to be that of the dilapidated community health centre (venue of the programme) which has been grounded for over 15 years now. Although the Sanmora Descendant Union (SDU) has been contributing money to give the facility a facelift, resources pooled so far has achieved so little and the health personnel posted to Sanmora still conducts clinic activities including antenatal care from a lock up shop.

In his closing remarks, the Deputy Governor, ably represented by Hon. Olabode Towoju assured the people of Sanmora that government will give painstaking attention to all their needs with priority to the community health centre based on the request of the community. According to him "In fact,  one aspect that stands out in Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq's blueprint is healthcare delivery. Under his leadership, the Kwara State health system is crystallising into one of the most proactive in the country. Hardly does one day pass without the Governor making an emphatic intervention in the healthcare sector". He commended the facilitator, Dr Seyi Adigun for his steadfastness and devotion to the welfare of communities across Irepodun local government spanning over 15 years.

Other dignitaries present at the event include the newly appointed Vice-Chairperson of the Transition Implementation Committee (TIC) for Irepodun LGA, Hon. Mujidat Folashade who stood in for the Chairman, Hon. Jide Oyinloye.

Several hundreds of aged adults, youths and children under 5 from Sanmora and neighbouring communities across Ajasse Ward 2 received free attention at the exercise. After the opening of the outreach session, Hon. Olabode Towoju, Prince Lanre Shuaib and Hon. Mujidat Folashde proceeded on a tour of the expansive, dilapidated Sanmora health facility guided by the programme facilitator Dr Seyi Adigun (who is an indigent of Sanmora) and other Sanmora community stakeholders. Areas toured included the reception,  waiting area, the consulting rooms, treatment room, deliver room and maternity ward,  inpatient section, mini theatre and emergency room,  the dispensary and side-lab as well as the equally dilapidated staff quarters.

The Round 15 Irepodun Free Medical Programme will be concluded at Arandun Ward on March, 23, 2021 under the Chairmanship of Alhaji Raheem Adedoyin, the Oloriewe of Oro Kingdom.
