The Nigerian security agency has disclosed that over 40 Boko Haram terrorists have been kiiled by 28 Task Force Brigade of Sector army under Operation Lafiya Dole in Borno State.

This was put in record in the fight against the enemy by the army while operating on intelligence along Chibok-Damboa region as well as Askira-Chibok Main Supply Route both in Borno State.

According to the statement gathered on Saturday via the Director Army Public Relations, Brigadier General Mohammed Yerima, shows that eleven abducted victims were also set free after the encounters.

The statement read in part: “Nigerian Army troops deployed in Chibok under 28 Task Force Brigade of Sector 1 Operation LAFIYA DOLE have neutralised scores of Boko Haram terrorists in an ambush along Chibok – Damboa axis of Borno state.

“The troops achieved the feat while acting on credible intelligence that some remnants of insurgents were fleeing due to the intensity of troops’ operations in Sambisa Forest.”

The statement added that 15 AK 47 gun and 4 magazines and many other items were regained by the troops during the course of operation.

The statement read, “The gallant troops are presently dominating the area with aggressive patrols and are equally on a trail of fleeing terrorists in order to locate and neutralise them”.

The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Ibrahim Attahiru thank the troop and their skill during the operation and appealed them to be more determined and maintain their offensive and defensive posture in all operations until the area is totally free from all remnants of terrorists.

The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Ibrahim Attahiru also thank the general public for their continuous prayer and support rendering to the army and security agency and charge them to continue to give correct information to the army and other security agencies operating within their region.
