David Umahi, Ebonyi State Governor, stated that political war in the state were due to people’s “over dependence on politics” as means of livelihood.

Mr Governor said this in a statement on Wednesday in Abakaliki, the state capital, during a send-off ceremony in honour of the Nigerian Ambassador to Zambia, Nwanne Ominyi.

David Umahi, added that most politicians in the state had no other job than politics, NAN reports.

The Governor said he knows that the “background was not right” from the time Ebonyi leaders abode from Anambra, Imo, Abia, Enugu before the state was established in 1996.

He said, “This has made the battle of politics in the state fierce but we are doing everything within our powers to change the narrative.

“We can no longer depend on the government and allocation from the Federation Account for survival".
