Sami Ashoko has been arrested by National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Nasarawa state.

The agency paraded his warehouse filled with skunk. 100 bags of the illicit drug weighing 1,095.3kg were seized.

According to the NDLEA spokesperson on Tuesday, said Ashoko was apprehended during the Easter holidays.

39 years old man who hails from Ibilo in the Akoko Edo area of Edo, was arrested after intelligence sources alert NDLEA.

Justice Arinze, NDLEA Commander in Nasarawa said Ashoko had been on the agency’s watch list for many years.

“This seizure has beaten the previous record of 45 bags weighing about half ton recovered in January 2021. It is the highest singular seizure of cannabis since the inception of the Command in 1999.”

The agency also apprehended Badamasi and Adamu Abba, members of another group in Iyamho, Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo.

950 compressed blocks of cannabis, weighing 1,330kg meant for Bauchi were seized.

Buba Wakawa, Edo NDLEA Commander, revealed that the culprits tried to runaway in a white coloured Peugeot J5 space bus with registration number Lagos JJJ 722 XC.

NDLEA also apprehended another trafficker, who sell drugs to some notorious drug joints in Abuja, along Gwagwalada expressway.

Mohammed Salami, NDLEA Commander in FCT, disclosed that the culprits admitted that he supplies substances to major drug joints in Abuja.
